Since 1960, CoopeTarrazú has been one of Costa Rica's most established specialty coffee cooperatives. Year after year, its coffees stand out for clean, crisp profiles and dependable quality, and this year's crop is no exception.
Who is CoopeTarrazú?
It isn't only the coffee that makes this cooperative special. CoopeTarrazú represents more than 4,650 members and plays an important role in the economic and social development of the Los Santos region. Beyond processing and marketing coffee, the cooperative gives its members technical assistance, education and training programs, financial support and other services designed to strengthen farming families and their communities.
We're glad to offer another year's crop from CoopeTarrazú and to keep supporting the cooperative's broader work. Long-term relationships like this one help farming communities keep investing in quality, sustainability and community development.

What's arriving from Tarrazú this year?
Three lots, each with its own personality. Our cupping team scored all three on arrival in our Charleston lab.
CoopeTarrazú 2026 at a glance
- Tirra Honey (yellow honey): a fan favorite that works for every kind of coffee drinker. Lemon, green apple and sweet maple, with honey, red apple and milk chocolate on our arrival table.
- Tirra Natural: plum, vanilla and tropical fruit with a big floral fragrance. On arrival we picked up red grape, mixed berry jam, mango and fudge, and it was our top scorer of the three at 85.9.
- La Pastora (washed, SHB EP): lime zest, raisin, sugar, honeysuckle, dark chocolate and orange. Versatile enough for a blend or to stand alone as a single origin.
How do you use these coffees?
La Pastora is the workhorse: clean, chocolate-forward and steady enough to anchor a blend. The Tirra Honey brings a little more sweetness and fruit for a single-origin slot. The Tirra Natural is the one to put on a menu when you want people to ask what they're drinking.
