Foundation

An introduction to the espresso bar: grinder and machine basics, dialing in a recipe, steaming and pouring milk, and the workflow and cleanliness habits that make a shift run smoothly. Ideal for new baristas and anyone moving behind the bar for the first time.

Intermediate

Builds on Foundation with a deeper look at extraction and how grind, dose, yield and time shape the cup, advanced milk technique and latte art fundamentals, and managing quality and consistency across a busy service.

Who it is for

Baristas, café owners and managers, trainers and roasters who want SCA-recognized skills and a shared standard for their bar. Each level ends with a practical and written assessment toward the SCA Coffee Skills Program certificate.
